Here’s a new image from Guy Ritchie<\/strong>‘s Sherlock Holmes 2<\/em><\/strong>, which is currently in production with Robert Downey Jr., Jude Law, <\/strong>Stephen Fry, Jared Harris, and Noomi Rapace.<\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n

Set in 1891 \u2014 a year after the last film\u2019s events \u2014 the sequel shows Holmes (Robert Downey Jr.) continuing his pursuit of\u00a0Professor Moriarty\u00a0(Jared Harris), who, if the investigator\u2019s instincts are correct, might be the world\u2019s first supervillain. Watson (Jude Law), meanwhile, is still trying to be a good partner to his love, Mary Morstan (Kelly Reilly), while keeping Sherlock alive.<\/p>\n

This time, though, the compatriots are joined by the feisty Sim, played by actress\u00a0Noomi Rapace, perhaps still best known to audiences for originating the role of punk rock computer hackerLisbeth Salander\u00a0in the Swedish movie adaptations of\u00a0Stieg Larsson\u2019s Millennium\u00a0trilogy. Also making an appearance is Sherlock\u2019s brotherMycroft Holmes, played by actorStephen Fry, a character who producer\u00a0Susan Downey\u00a0describes as \u201cstranger and perhaps even more brilliant\u201d than the English detective.<\/p>\n

\u201cUnlike last time, where Holmes kept getting Watson into trouble,\u201d adds actor Downey, \u201cthis time Watson is getting Holmes out of trouble, and they\u2019re both in deeper trouble than I think the audience could have imagined we could go\u2026.
