I Hate You, Dad <\/strong> <\/em>(June 27)<\/p>\n

CULVER CITY, Calif., February 25, 2011 \u2013 Summer 2012 is heating up for moviegoers as Columbia Pictures adds three highly anticipated films to its summer slate, it was announced today by Jeff Blake<\/strong>, chairman, Worldwide Marketing and Distribution for Sony Pictures.\u00a0 Joining the strong summer line-up that already includes\u00a0Men in<\/em> Black\u2122 3<\/em> in 3D (May 25) and\u00a0The Amazing Spider-Man\u2122<\/em> in 3D (July 3), the studio will release\u00a0I Hate You, Dad<\/em>, starring Adam Sandler<\/strong> and Andy Samberg<\/strong>, on June 22,\u00a0Here<\/em> Comes the Boom<\/em>, starring Kevin James<\/strong>, on July 27, and a re-imagining of\u00a0Total Recall<\/em>, starring Colin Farrell<\/strong>, on August 3.<\/p>\n

Commenting on the announcement, Blake said, \u201cNot only do we have two of our most exciting franchises back in theaters with\u00a0Men in Black 3 <\/em>and\u00a0The Amazing Spider-Man<\/em>, but the three movies we added to the slate today round out a fantastic schedule.\u00a0 We love comedy in the summer and you can\u2019t ask for better stars than Adam Sandler and Kevin James.\u00a0Total Recall<\/em> has us excited not only because of its incredible pedigree \u2013 we love the original story and the first film \u2013 but we think this new project will really hit home with a new generation of moviegoers.\u201d<\/p>\n

I Hate You, Dad<\/em> centers on a father (Sandler) who moves in on the eve of his son\u2019s (Samberg) wedding and promptly begins feuding with the bride-to-be. \u00a0Adam Sandler, Jack Giarraputo and Heather Parry are producing, Barry Bernardi serves as executive producer, with the screenplay by David Caspe and David Wain & Ken Marino.<\/p>\n

In the comedy\u00a0Here Comes the Boom<\/em>, Kevin James stars as a high school biology teacher who moonlights as a mixed-martial arts fighter in an effort to raise money to save the school\u2019s music program.\u00a0 Director Frank Coraci, who recently directed James in\u00a0Zookeeper<\/em>, which Columbia and MGM are co-financing and will be released\u00a0 this summer, re-teams with the star.\u00a0\u00a0Here Comes the<\/em> Boom<\/em> is produced by Todd Garner and Kevin James.\u00a0 Executive producers are Jeff Sussman, Marty Ewing and Sean Robbins.\u00a0 The screenplay is written by Allan Loeb & Kevin James.<\/p>\n

Total Recall<\/em> is a new, contemporized reimagining of the science fiction saga.\u00a0 The film will be directed by Len Wiseman and produced by Neal H. Moritz and Toby Jaffe, with Ric Kidney on-board as executive producer.\u00a0 The short story \u201cWe Can Remember It for You Wholesale\u201d by Philip K. Dick served as the source for the 1990 Motion Picture screen story by Ronald Shusett & Dan O\u2019Bannon and Jon Povill and screenplay by Ronald Shusett & Dan O\u2019Bannon and Gary Goldman, with the updated screenplay being written by Kurt Wimmer and Mark Bomback and James Vanderbilt.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
