New York, NY — February 28, 2011 — Since 2002, Syfy <\/strong>viewers have experienced\u00a0mutated sharks, mosquito men, alligators as big as blimps, vengeful demon moths,\u00a0pterodactyls, werewolves, dragons and really, really big snakes. Plus earthquakes that\u00a0split the U.S. in half, man-made volcanoes, space storms, tornados made of ice,\u00a0magnetic meteors and plagues of killer locusts — every unnatural <\/em>disaster imaginable.<\/p>\n

Now Syfy <\/strong>celebrates its bi-weekly assault on humanity with the premiere of its 200th\u00a0Saturday Original Movie, Scream of the Banshee<\/em>, on Saturday, March 26, at 9PM\u00a0(ET\/PT).<\/p>\n

In Scream of the Banshee<\/em>, when a college professor opens a mysterious and ornate box\u00a0discovered hidden in the tunnels under her university, she and her students hear the\u00a0horrifying scream of a bloodthirsty Banshee. Everyone who hears the scream is fated to\u00a0die a strange and terrible death. Now the professor, her daughter and a few of her\u00a0students must try to stop the Banshee. A production of After Dark Films, Scream of the <\/em>Banshee <\/em>stars Lauren Holly (NCIS<\/em>) and Lance Henriksen (Alien)<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Enjoying a robust ratings surge, a Syfy <\/strong>Saturday Original Movie has broken the two\u00a0million total viewers mark for six straight months (August-January). Overall, the movies\u00a0have averaged nearly two million viewers in 2011. The most watched Saturday Original\u00a0Movie ever is Lake Placid 2 (<\/em>2007) with 3.2 million viewers.<\/strong><\/p>\n
