According to a report from The Wall\u00a0Street Journal there was an attack on Sony Japan’s Internet service provider So-Net\u00a0 where someone stole about 100,000 yen ($1,225) of virtual points from users who have been advised to change their passwords.<\/p>\n

Between the initial, crippling PlayStation Network intrusion, followed soon by the PSN\u00a0password reset exploit, the U.S. Federal government inquiries, the Japanese government embargoes thanks to Sony security practices, and now a new intrusion on Sony Japan’s Internet service provider So-Net, things are just not going well.<\/p>\n

Sony have issued a somewhat reassuring statement that hey, at least this time wasn’t quite<\/em> so bad:<\/p>\n

“At this point in our investigations, we have not confirmed any data leakage. We have not found any sign of a possibility that a third party has obtained members\u2019 names, address, birth dates and phone numbers,” So-Net reps said.
