Abrams<\/strong>. Unfortunately it doesn&#8217;t look like that&#8217;s going to happen.<\/p>\n<p>Shatner recently made an appearance at the Calgary Expo in Canada  this weekend, and a fan asked a question on whether or not we would see  him back as Captain Kirk in the upcoming\u00a0<em>Star Trek<\/em>&#8230; here was his answer:<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>I&#8217;ve become an acquaintance of J.J. [Abrams] of late &#8230; But, I&#8217;m afraid no, no, I will not be in\u00a0<em>Star Trek 2<\/em>.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Damn, that sucks. Shatner has expressed his interest and hope in  showing up in the new Star Trek film, but I guess the new story that has  been hatched for the sequel doesn&#8217;t include it. Sure it&#8217;s  disappointing, but if adding Shatner in the film distracts from the  story or doesn&#8217;t work with what they&#8217;ve come up with then I guess it&#8217;s  the best thing for the film.
