The highly anticipated sequel to J.J. Abram\u2019s 2009 blockbuster  hit now has an official release date. The film will be released in  theaters on May 13, 2013.<\/p>\n<p>Sony  pictures recently announced that their film Singularity, which was  scheduled to open that weekend will be moved up to a November release.  This provides an opening in the summer schedule to release Star Trek.<\/p>\n<p>While  the film has no official title, it has been confirmed that the movie  will be shot in 3D as well as normal shooting.
