According to TorrentFreak, Call of Duty: Black Ops for PC, the Activision game was the most illegally downloaded game of the year with more than four million downloads just in one month. Their data is comprised of numerous public reports from BitTorrent trackers.
Until recenly EA’s Battlefield: Bad Company 2 held the top spot for most illegal downloads. Black Ops has made over $1 billion in revenue in just over a week. Activision’s Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 for PC was the most pirated game of 2009 with 4,100,000 downloads.
Super Mario Galaxy 2 was the most pirated game on the Wii with nearly 1.5 million illegal downloads. EA’s Dante’s Inferno holds the highest number of downloads for the Xbox 360 with 1.3 million.
