This X-Wing Soap Box Derby Car looks amazing.

It looks great, and it also features a styrofoam R2-D2 that spins thanks to an old children’s toy that was re-routed through an NES controller so that the A and B buttons can control the movement. The droid also includes the familiar R2-D2 babble thanks to an iPod, some speakers and a 50-second audio loop.

However, the most amazing aspect of this build is the fact that the entire X-Wing was constructed for under $75 thanks to the use of (mostly) recycled materials. Check out an additional image after the break.
