It’s a new year and Marvel has some new comics coming our way. First up, comes a crossover featuring Deadpool and Howard The Duck.
The comic begins with a SHIELD agent taking Deadpool to a safe house to brief him on a mission they would like him to take. Deadpool is not taking this seriously and is acting like the agent is a real estate agent trying to sell him the house. Although, he does seem to be interested in the house and is talking about how he going to decorate the place. Deadpool takes the mission and off we go. Also, for some reason, Wolverine shares Deadpool body with him and only Deadpool can talk to him.Much like other characters in previous Deapool stories.
We continue to a cityscape where we get some internal monologuing from Howard The Duck. He is interrupted by a space ship crashing which happens to be piloted by Rocket Raccoon. Shortly after, Deadpool arrives and a firefight ensues. During the battle, Deadpool accesses technology he normally does not use, which is damaged by Rocket. As a result, the tech goes haywire and gives off an energy discharge. When the dust settles, Howard is standing wearing the Deadpool suit. The two have now become one.
The first of a six issue run, this issue serves a fine introduction to the series. The art is good and the premise seems like it could create some good humor. I’m looking forward to seeing where this one goes.
