Well, here we are as another year has gone by. I’m now up to 14 years of covering the world of geekdom and it is truly astonishing that it is as strong as ever.
While things have come and gone, new things continue to arise and the landscape continues to evolve. New goals are forged as I attempt to make this platform the best it can be. I’m very happy to have ended the year strong on creating video content over on YouTube with a healthy schedule of Disney park vlogs, convention shenanigans and toy reviews. I ended 2023 with a streak of 1 upload every week and most ofm those week being two or more uploads. I’ve found a good pace of two videos per week for me has been helping the channel grow at a good pace. That is the goal for now is to keep that streak of two per week through the end of the year.
After a few leans years due to world events and some personal issues, I’m looking forward to getting into the convention swing again. I want to get back into double digits again as far as attending conventions goes. Conventions have always been at the heart of my content and I find myself feeling that conventions are getting to a good place again. Really diving more head first into conventions and savoring the camaraderie of great people at great events. It is truly a great feeling and I was getting a little burnt out over the past few years but some unexpected gaps in my frequency has allowed for some things to change in the scene and I do look forward to seeing where the convention landscape is and enjoying it all along the way.
It has been an interesting year so far in 2024. Some issues that arose this year left me a bit down and distracted. Luckily those events are coming to a close and corners are turning. I feel like there has been a lot of stalled momentum the past few years and this year especially. I look forward to getting back to more events and being able to spread out a little further as I’ve had to stick closer to home base this year.
I am also very glad that my next event will be my fifth trip to DragonCon. Feels like a great way to start off a new year of events and memories. Of course, there will be plenty of coverage. To this day, I still don’t know how I made that first trip happen in 2019 other than pure spite. This year will be an interesting one as I will be involved more heavily in a few aspects I’ve participated in. That includes hosting one of the photoshoots this year. I’m very much looking forward to that and sharing that experience.
Of course as I continue to fine tune and refine the things I do well, I also want to expand. I want to create more diverse video content such as skits and short films. I want to do more meaningful writing. maybe even write a book. There are still many things I want to do. I want to get back into podcasting more. I am currently working on plans to bring back Totally Radical Cartoon Podcast and continue talking about the amazing world of 80s cartoons. I’m working through how to best format the show to add it into my current content lineup.
I would also love to expand out and be on other platforms and collaborate with other podcasts. I’d love to do more collaborative content on YouTube and appear on other channels as well as bring more of my circles into mine. As the world of content has grown and evolved over the past few years, I have worked to build a fresh base and shift my content into new and exciting directions. The world of geekdom is still as strong and vibrant as ever for me. I truly look forward to sharing that world with you even more.
This upcoming year feels like a fresh start in a lot of ways. I look forward to the growth and experiences that will come over the next year. I truly believe when I check in for the 15th anniversary update, there will be a lot to share and reflect on.
Before I sign off on this one, I must of course thank you all for reading this and continuing the support you have given for any or all of the last 14 years. It is not possible without the support. For any follows on social media, to sharing and using the cosplay photos. Always a rush to see people my photos being tagged as someone’s new profile photo. I thank all of you for the love and support. And to that I say once more unto the breach.
Live Long And Prosper
