LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean: The Video Game Announced

LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean: The Video Game

Disney has announced LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean: The Video Game. LEGO Pirates will be a joint venture for The LEGO Group and Disney Interactive Studios. It will be released simultaneously with the upcoming Pirates film: Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides in May 2011.

LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean: The Video Game will be based off of the first three movies in the series, The Curse of the Black Pearl, Dead Man’s Chest and At World’s End. Elements from the upcoming movie will also be incorporated into the game’s story.
Rather than following along exactly with the movies’ plots the game will focus on key scenes, recreating them in LEGO style. Think silly humor and lots of blocks. There will be more than 70 characters to unlock and play as. And with 20 levels, don’t think it’s going to be a quick play through either. Like previous LEGO titles count on single player and co-op so you can play with your first-mate.
Jack Sparrow and other familiar characters from the Pirates of the Caribbean series will be sailing onto just about every possible platform including Wii, Xbox 360, PS3, PSP, Nintendo DS, and PC. Look out for this game next spring.
