Over 8 million Kinects were sold worldwide in the device’s first 60 days of availability, Microsoft announced tonight during CES 2011.
What is perhaps most impressive about this stat is that the company had sold 2.5 million at the end of November, a little over three weeks after its launch, which means that over 5.5 million Kinects were sold in the month of December alone.
Microsoft’s Interactive Entertainment Business president Don Mattrick actually said back in November the company predicted to sell 5 million units during the 2010 holiday season. How’s that for an accurate forecast?
