Last week news hit the net that Shane Black was in the running to replace Jon Favreau as the director of Iron Man 3. It has been confirmed that Black is officially signed on to direct the movie.
Shane is mostly known for his writing, but there’s still no word on if he will write the script for the third Iron Man film yet. According to a source they haven’t figured that part out yet.
Shane is currently working on an adaptation of the classic pulp book series Doc Savage for Sony, and is also working on developing a live action adaptation of the Japanese manga series Death Note for Warner Bros.
Iron Man 3 is scheduled to be released on May 3rd, 2013.
