Star Trek Sequel Gets Release Date

Star Trek fans get something else to be thankful for on this Thanksgiving weekend. The highly anticipated sequel to J.J. Abram’s 2009 blockbuster hit now has an official release date. The film will be released in theaters on May 13, 2013.

Sony pictures recently announced that their film Singularity, which was scheduled to open that weekend will be moved up to a November release. This provides an opening in the summer schedule to release Star Trek.

While the film has no official title, it has been confirmed that the movie will be shot in 3D as well as normal shooting. It has also been confirmed that the entire main cast from the first film will reprise their respective roles from the movie.
