AMC continues to see massive success with it’s hit show, The Walking Dead. The series, based on the comic book penned by Robert Kirkmas had already been announced to have been renewed for a third season. The series will also receive an increase on the number of episodes ordered for the season.
After a successful six episode run in season 1, the network upped the show to 13 total episodes in season 2. The third season of the series will be increased to 16 total episodes. In addition to the increase in episodes, co-executive producer Gale Anne Hurd revealed that writers Nichole Beattie (John from Cincinnati) and Sang Kim (Crash) will be joining the staff for production of the show.
The series has been a ratings hit for AMC. The second half of season 2 will resume on Sunday February 12.
