Kevin Conroy will return as Batman in Arkham Origins – Updated

It was recently announced that a prequel to the Arkham series would be released. Not immediately announced was the voice of Batman. There was a lot of speculation that Kevin Conroy was replaced as the voice of Batman in the game. Conroy has been the iconic voice of the Dark Knight n animated and video game media for the past twenty years. Some very good news was announced. Conroy is indeed back in the role we know him for. he made the announcement at this past weekend’s Dallas Comic-Con.

Much of the confusion came about becuase Conroy was contractually obligated to not talk about the project. “I can talk about it now,” Conroy said during his Q&A panel. “We’ve been working for about nine or ten months on the next Arkham game. We all signed contracts so we weren’t allowed to talk about it. The studio likes to completely control the rollout of any product, so they don’t like us to talk about anything, but it’s now been announced.

“It’s an unbelievable game, I still can’t say anything about it, and you don’t want me to anyway because it will ruin it for you, but it’s amazing. It’s a huge, huge cast, and a big story. It took almost a year of writing to put it together. They’ve been working on it a long time.”

The game takes place during the early years of Bruce Wayne developing his abilities as Batman. Several villains are featured in this game for the first time in the series including Black Mask and Deathstroke. The game centers around a storyline where Black Mask places a bounty on Batman on Christmas Eve. Batman: Arkham Origins will be released on October 25 for Wii U, Playstation 3, Xbox 360, and PC.
