Goals for 2017
Welcome to 2017. A new year of course means a new start and I’m sure we all need a fresh start after 2016. What seemed like such a hazy year with all of the celebrity deaths, instability in the world and all the other problems, it’s time to start anew.
It’s hard to say that 2016 was a bad year for me. I still managed to make it to twenty two geeky events last year (the same number as 2015). I still feel like I brought a great amount geeky content to you guts as well. But I still fell I could have done a bit better. Some personal issues behind the scenes sort of dampened the travel a bit. But hopefully those are all now behind me and I can devote more attention to this site and really see it grow. So how can I do that? Well with a few goals of course. Here’s how I will try to make the site better in 2017.
First of all, I am planning to keep up the event coverage. I would like to step up the number of events covered and hit 25-30 events this year. Time to start sending out emails and work on press passes. I will also be working harder to do event write ups in addition to the photo galleries I post.
Speaking of writing, that’s something I need to work on. I’ll be starting more writing projects this year. Top 5/10 lists, a better focus on written reviews, blogging and maybe some fiction writing to get more words on the screen. It’s all about the content.
And moving on to content, I will of course keep bringing the best nerdy content to you all. I will also be looking for regular content to show off. I have featured various, web series, podcasts, review shows and other content on the site. Some of the featured content creators took hiatuses or went off line in 2016. I will be looking for new content to regularly feature and work on my own as well. I have toyed with the idea of a podcast and some video project ideas. More to come on those as they become available. But I will also be glad to be on podcasts and talk geek as well. Always looking to exchange promotion.
I really think 2017 is going to be a great year for this site and can’t wait to take the ride with all of you.
