Every so often, I want to try my hand at cosplay. Granted, I am not a very crafty person, so doing something that requires a lot of precise work doesn’t always appeal to me. I also carry around a fair amount of stuff as I go around documenting conventions for this site. So, if I do costume, I would prefer something that is functional.
Luckily, here’s where my love of GI Joe comes in. Being that they are military based characters, many of their setups are fairly easy to recreate with somewhat readily available materials. Being the event reporter that I am, decided to go with the character Scoop, a combat reporter for GI Joe.
I made a video describing how I made this costume and some of the stories and thought processes behind it.The costume made its debut at Gods & Monsters new location opening event and I am very pleased with the outcome.
