Listen along as On The Media’s PJ Vogt discusses how the video game industry faced a downfall in early 80s. “By 1985, the flood of bad games had shrunk the game industry’s value, from three billion dollars down to just a few hundred million dollars. And that’s when our story really starts. That winter, Nintendo sent out salespeople to try to pitch U.S. retailers on a new console that was doing really well in Japan.”
