3DS Launch Titles Revealed

The launch of Nintendo‘s new handheld platform, the 3DS, is weeks away now. While there’s been plenty of speculation on what titles would be available first, Nintendo has finally issued an official list. A grand total of 16 games will be buyable on March 27th, the day the 3DS goes on sale. Three of those titles are Nintendo productions, while the remaining 13 come from third-party developers.

Nintendo’s three titles are being priced higher than standard DS games, at a suggested price tag of $39.99. That’s $10 more than most new DS titles cost.

Nintendo’s three titles include:

Pilotwings Resort – Consider it the Wii Sports of the 3DS. You’ll fly above the island featured in Wii Sports Resort using planes, gliders, and jetpacks to complete various missions.

Steel Driver – Another vehicle-based game, this one an underwater combat sim set in a submarine.

Nintendogs + cats – The DS classic goes 3D in this update of the bestselling pet simulation.

The third-party titles available on launch day are:

Super Street Fighter IV 3D Edition from Capcom.

The Sims 3 from EA.

Madden NFL Football from EA Sports.

Pro Evolution Soccer 2011 3D from Konami.

LEGO Star Wars III: The Clone Wars from LucasArts.

Ridge Racer 3D from Namco Bandai.
