Ever wonder what would happen if the citizens of Gotham City got fed up with having one Batman who just can’t seem to keep the psychos in line? Well, wonder no more as Warner Bros. Interactive and Monolith Productions are bringing an answer to that very ponderment.
Gotham City Imposters (coming to the PC, Playstation Network, and Xbox Live) is a multiplayer first-person shooter where you play a Gotham citizen who decides to take on a (slightly ghetto) form of the Cowl against a group called the Jokerz (unless, of course, you wish to be an agent of chaos in tune with the Clown Prince of Crime, where it would be the opposite) facing in various types of multiplayer games.
You get to choose body types, which will effect your speed, toughness and strength, as well as a variety of weapons for your primary and secondary guns, a gadget, and a support item (like a grappling gun). Your character’s costume is also customizable, allowing you to choose options for your cowl, legs, hands, feet, logo, and even different voices.
The game is described as Team Fortress-like, with fun, quick matches and easily adjustable game-play.
While the game has a bit of a back-story, it is online multiplayer only (no bots), so there’s no single player story mode. Monolith says it’s still working on how many total players the game will have.
