The hype machine is in over drive today. Marvel Comics has long been known for bringing us tales of individuals with larger than life abilities. The company now plans to make a comic based on the man who has the super power to miraculously win games in the fourth quarter, Denver Broncos quarterback, Tim Tebow.
“Like the Marvel heroes who pull off last minute victories, Tim Tebow has fans around the world on the edge of their seats and believing that in our own lives when time is running out and all looks lost, we can dig deep inside and use our various strengths to triumph over insurmountable odds” says Bill Rosemann of Marvel.
Not a surprising move by Marvel. Love him or hate him, Tebow brings a lot of attention and press to football for standing firm to his convictions. He’s easily one of the most recognizable athletes today and any mainstream attention Marvel can get will definitely be a boon to their sales.
