Six Out, Six In For ‘Second Wave’ of DC New 52

Change is inevitable in the comic book world. After a few months of trial and error, DC Comics has announced that they will be launching a “Second Wave” to their New DC 52 Universe. Six titles will be on their way out in May to be replaced by six incoming titles.

The titles that will be ending are Men of War, Mister Terrific, O.M.A.C., Hawk and Dove, Blackhawks and Static Shock. They will be replaced in the lineups with Batman Incorporated (being penned by Grant Morrison), Earth 2 (which will feature the return of Justice Society to the DCU),  World’s Finest (which will feature Huntress and finally bring Power Girl into the New DCU), Dial H, G.I. Combat and The Ravagers.

DC editor-in-chief Bob Harras said, “These characters’ stories will continue. It’s all part of that world building we’re very keen on here.”

“Many of the characters from our canceled books will appear in DC COMICS-THE NEW 52 titles, and in some very surprising ways,” said Harras. “We’re developing stories that reach from cultures around the globe to parallel worlds. We’re just getting started.”

Several of the titles were receiving negative fan reactions and it’s not surprising to see them ending.
