The moment Halo fans around the world have been waiting for has finally arrived. The release date for Halo 4 has been announced. The next game in the Halo series, the first since Bungee sold the franchise to 343 Industries, will be released on November 6, 2012. The eighth game in the franchise will take on a bit of anew directions as announced in a statement from 343 Industries.
“We are beginning a new saga with Halo 4 and embarking on a journey that will encompass the next decade of Halo games and experiences”, says Phil Spencer, the corporate vice president of Microsoft Studios. “Millions of fans worldwide have been eagerly awaiting the opportunity to step back into the boots of Master Chief, and with Halo 4 leading the charger, we’re confident 2012 will be the most successful year in Xbox history.”
The game will take place four years after the events of Halo 3. The studio has said that this game will be the first in a new trilogy arc of Halo games. Each main Halo game has broken sales records within 24 hours of it’s release. 2007’s Halo 3 did $170 million in sales its first day out. Don’t be surprised to see those numbers broken again.
