Saban and Shout! Factory have announced a team up to release several of Saban’s properties to DVD and Blu-Ray. The multi year deal announced will cover a wide array of series.
In the deal, Shout! will release all 700+ episodes of Power Rangers aired since 1993. Also to be released will be all 92 episodes of “VR Troopers” (1994-96), all 26 episodes of “Ninja Turtles: The Next Mutation” (1997-98) and all 88 episodes of “Big Bad Beetleborgs” (1996-98). The theatrically released Power Rangers movies are not currently included in the deal.
Shout! Factory members Richard Foos, Bob Emmer and Garson Foos released a statement,
“We look forward to bringing these highly entertaining series with great packaging and extras to fans and on family home entertainment shelves.”
The initial releases are expected to come as early as this summer. Shout! has done very well with bringing in series that have not had a DVD treatment to US retailers including recent releases of Japanese Transformers series Headmasters and the DiC produced G.I. Joe series.
No News on Saban’s Masker Rider?
Masked Rider wasn’t mentioned in the press release so it’s just these shows for now. Maybe of these do well enough, they’ll give MR a shot.
